What is Mental Health ?
The world is surprisingly in search of professionals who are worth more than doctors who treat the wounds of our physical body, the world today is in search for individuals who can heal the wounds of the mind. Not only is physical health important but also mental health. Mental health is not something which has emerged out of the blue , it is just that this issue has been brought into spotlight in the recent years. Did you know that the 16th President of USA Abrahim Lincoln suffered from clinical depression ? An article from The Atlantic Magazine stated that he fought with clinical depression all his life. We know just a few out of those historical figures who suffered from mental illnesses. According to the WHO (World Health Organization)1 in every 8 people in the world live with a mental disorder.
After reading all of this shouldn't we know what is mental health and how important it is for us? Mental health is a state of well-being in which an individual realizes his or her own abilities, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and is able to make a contribution to his or her community. Mental health is keeping our mind productive and active. In todays blog I will be giving few tips which can help your mind healthy .
1. Reading
Reading helps your brain to keep on storing essential things and also helps your brain to relax. Readers all around the world including you who engage in reading articles, news, stories, novels, books and more , have better mental habits than those who don't. So lets keep on reading and keep our mind active .
2.Questioning Ourselves
The whole concept of counselling is just to make the patient find his or her own solutions by asking them questions. This goes the same for us, self-counselling is a really good way of engaging with our mind, it makes us more conscious of our actions and words which helps in character development of an individual.
3.Healthy diet
While many associate this with a healthy physical body ,remember that 'You are what you eat'. Replenishing our bodies with good food replenishes our mind as well. So make sure to have a balanced diet.
4. Stop Comparing Yourself
With the heavy influence of social media everybody wants to be Mr.Perect or Mrs.Perfect ,the influencers who showcase themselves as absolutely flawless, living their lives in some different reality are not the same without their makeup, views and other hundreds of face editing apps. You are the most perfect person in your world, so please stop comparing with anybody. It negatively affects your mind which on not manifesting your desires leads to anxiety or even depression. You are the best version of yourself. Progress and move on in life for yourself not for someone else.
5. Play a Sport
I have mentioned about this in my previous article the link is here do check out👉Sports .Its a part of our life to expose ourselves to the outside world . The best way is by playing sports . Its a good way to destress whenever you have too much on your plate.
6. Meditation
Meditation is not only doing yoga , meditation means to do something that you like which relaxes you it can be a cup of coffee or your daily newspaper whatever calms you down. It should be daily habit so that you let your mind talk about how it feels and thinks because we often let our emotions take control of our thinking.
There are so many things you can do which will keep our mental health in good state. You can surf the net for more information since this is just a brief overview of it .
Its all up to you how you want to shape your mindset, remember its never late to change it for the good.
I hope you do not turn a blind eye towards this important concept and help people around you who suffer from mental disorders around you. Let's create a world where in everybody is not only healthy from the outside but also from the inside.
